HI EVERYONE,

GUITAR TEE

Sorry this comes late and i don't think anyone's gonna read this in time! But PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING $12 for the guitar tee shirt on MONDAY. Pass it to either Vivien or Alicia (O$P$!) outside the fishtank after morning assembly! For those J1s who did NOT come for training on Monday, please SMS your tee shirt sizes AND NAME + CLASS (XS,S,M,L,XL) to 91723524 ( DON'T ABUSE ><"). If you are NOT SURE, just sms anyway, and I'll let you all see the sizes again on wednesday's training as we need the number of shirts to order.

For those who did not bring $ on monday, please bring $ on tuesday! And find either Vivien (07S7B - left wing) or Alicia (07S6B - right wing), thank you!

FYI, most girls are taking XS or S. And guys mostly L, but L is rather big, so erm... M would be a better fit for those around Yingzhi's height.

GUITAR LESSONS

There will be a TOTAL OF 4 CLASSES every monday.

There will be 2 instructors, Mr Frankie Shi (our conductor) and another person. Fee = $45 for 4 lessons.

Lessons are from either 4pm-5pm OR 5pm-6pm. Each class will have 5 pupils. (total 4 classes, 20 people).

SIGN UP IN GROUPS OF 5 (if you want) or if you DON'T have a group, just email/msn/sms me (number above) your name+class anyway and I'll slot you into a group =)

Programme Committee / Publicity Committee for Concert 2008

As mentioned during training, those of you interested in joining programme committee or publicity committee please contact me and chen sin respectively.

Email us your name & contact no. so that we can go look for you. There might not be enough places for all of you so we might not be able to accommodate all or you or we might have to divert you to another comm. So do sign up quickly (: We'll most likely go look for you during/after training during wednesday so theres no need to do anything on your part. Just make sure that you can commit to it and be responsible. Recognition will be given to those involve in the committee.

For those that do not want to / didnt make it into the comms, fret not! The comms are just one of the few ways to do your part for our 2008 annual concert. You can still contribute in many other ways to make our guitar concert '08 a blast. Here are the things you can do.

1) PRACTISE (: <-- crucial!! Practise guitar everyday to make your MIs smile away! xD
2) Come up with a group item.

Concerts are such that there are ensemble items, traditions (e.g. Exco item, MI item), Solo item, Guest performances, performances by other CCA's, and most imptly group items. Form groups to choose which pieces you want to play. You get to decide everything, from the piece to the dynamics to the no. of ppl. Afterwhich, the programme com will decide if the item is suitable for concert performance. (hint: great chance for you to ask the girl you've always be eyeing to play w you) so pls take the opportunity to get to know more ppl, and form ur own item for concert. 2nd round of grp item audition will be conducted probably in mid-late march so do get cracking (:

There will be no lessons due to ur post orientation party. Lessons would start on the 3rd of march, a new month with a fresh start xD So do enjoy urself during the party and good luck to all (esp Athena)! LOL.

Group Auditions on Monday / Lessons

There will be group item auditions (for concert) for j2s on Monday 18/2/2008. It'll start at 3.30pm, at E301 and E302. Please come down for auditions if you want to perform for concert. thanks (:

There'll be another group item audition for j2s + mainly j1s in March. So do think of what to perform if you haven't should you want to take the opportunity to showcase ur talent. Yupp.

Lessons are still being arranged. Sorry for ><. somethings went wrong along the way so we're liaising with another instructor on top of Mr Shi now. Lessons should start by next week (25th of Feb) if nothing goes wrong. Thanks and rmb to check the blog frequently for updates! (:

For all the J1s who placed an order for guitar with Luthier, please be reminded to pay the balance ($430) on Monday. I (Chen Sin) will be under the bridge after assembly to collect the balance.

There's a huge delay as supply is unable to meet demand (30+ J1s > 2 classes of 10 students)

Some of you may need to have music lessons privately. =(

Guitar Vendor - The guitar vendor from Luthier will be down this FRIDAY @ 5PM
Please do bring along your angpao money and your savings to purchase your new guitar =)
