Asian Folktales and Legends Concert organised by the NUS Guitar Ensemble

NUS Guitar Ensemble (GENUS) is proud to present GENUS 2010: Asian Folktales and Legends, a part of Asia Alive, NUS Arts Festival 2010.

This year, GENUS and collaborating artists, NUS Choir and NUS Wind Symphony, go on a journey to explore the different facets of Asia with a potpourri of songs representing Asia’s musical diversity and cultural fusion.
We are excited to invite Hwa Chong Guitar Club to join us in this unprecedented collaboration of unique sounds from the Japanese Niibori guitars and western instruments with the vocals of NUS Choir. This is an exciting opportunity for you and your students to rediscover familiar Asian songs as we promise a whole new concert experience, for all guitar aficionados and amateur players alike, involving everything from new arrangements of familiar traditional folksongs to catchy tunes from Asia’s popular culture.
